Letter 004 · Dear Dreamer
Begin Before You Are Ready

“Who dares despise the day of small things?”
ZECHARIAH 4:10
Dear Dreamer,
You have been waiting to feel ready. I need to tell you gently: that feeling is not coming. Readiness is not a gate you walk through before you begin — it is a horizon that moves as you move. The people you admire did not start because they were ready. They became ready because they started.
Your dream in its first form will be small, awkward, and unimpressive. Let it be. The first version of anything meaningful is embarrassing to the person who can see the final vision. But small is not the opposite of significant. Small is how significant begins. Do not despise the day of small things — heaven doesn’t.
Fear will tell you that you need one more course, one more year, one more sign. But you do not need more certainty; you need more obedience to the thing already burning in you. Take the step that is available today — the phone call, the first page, the rough prototype — and let the next step reveal itself from there.
One day you will look back and realise the moment everything changed was not dramatic at all. It was quiet. It was ordinary. It was the day you began.
Reflection
What is the smallest possible version of your dream that could exist by the end of this month? Name it. Then take its first step within 48 hours — momentum is a decision before it is a feeling.
A Prayer
Lord, I surrender my need to feel ready. Give me courage for small beginnings and faith for the steps I cannot yet see. Let this dream be built with You, not just for You. Amen.
With love and hope,
Tebogo Mazibuko
